HEAD OF PROGRAMS: BASED IN DAR ES SALAAM
REPORTS TO: THE COUNTRY DIRECTOR
JOB OBJECTIVE:-‐ To provide technical programme leadership and management in the development and sustenance of the country programme Key Responsibilities:
§ Operationalize Amref health Africa ‘niche’ areas in health and development programming § Playing critical role in the strategic planning and management of the country programme and business development.
§ Leading in the development and growth of the Country programme portfolio in collaboration with the country director and programme teams
§ Lead programme teams in defining programme priorities for new business development and proposal writing
§ Liaise with key donors and partners to gather intelligence on new and upcoming funding § Providing technical leadership in business development in Amref Health Africa Tanzania in line with the Global and National strategies and priorities
§ Working with Country Director to harmonize communications with the project teams and other Amref health Africa Tanzania offices on issues related with Business Development
§ Proactively track donor and corporate trends for program support and liaise with other Amref health Africa offices and Headquarters in collaboration with the Country Director to identify and access donor information; technical and related support for new business development
§ Strengthen staff capacity to respond to strategic opportunities through the creation and/or delivery of formal and informal training and leading teams to write winning technical proposals in the identified programme area of focus
§ Engaging actively in fundraising and social enterprise initiatives for the Country programme
§ Holding good understanding of the overall Country Programmes and business plans, and effectively cover for the Country Director as delegated or during his/her absence.
§ Effectively representing the organization and the country Programme to external stakeholders
§ Advocating and representing Amref Health Africa at the highest level on matters of health development in Country as delegated by the Country Director.
§ Together with the Country Director and the Senior Management Team, develop and ensure the implementation of Amref Health Africa Country’s programme strategy in line with Amref Heath Africa corporate strategy.
§ Providing overall guidance, supervision and quality assurance in programme planning, monitoring and reporting as well as operational researches where applicable.

PROFFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
§ Post graduate degree equivalent of Masters Degree or PhD in Public health, Social Sciences, Business management, Health Economics or closely related field. A background with Degree of Medicine is an added advantage.
§ Business Development expertise encompassing skills in programme development and proposals writing § Experience in developing and maintaining community health development programmes
§ 5 yrs in Business Development and Programme Management, 2yrs at a senior level § Extensive years of experience in successful proposal development for institutional and corporate donors, including pre-‐solicitation preparation § Substantive relevant experience in proposal development for other multilateral or bilateral donors

ADVOCACY MANAGER: BASED IN DAR ES SALAAM
REPORTS TO: THE COUNTRY DIRECTOR JOB OBJECTIVES: The Policy Project Manager focuses on building advocacy portfolio for the country program to improve human resources for health, reproductive health and rights and increased health financing in consultation with the Country Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Lead annual planning on advocacy and for the HSA project for the country; supports all projects to mainstream advocacy, oversees timely HSA work plan implementation, and ensures synergy between HSA and the different projects in planning and implementation of advocacy.
§ Develop annual advocacy and HSA budgets, guides implementers on donor and organizational financial policies, ensures value for money, and enhances accountability in use of funds.
§ Scan the policy environment for health financing, HRH and RH commodities, comes up with advocacy strategies, builds capacity of partners on advocacy, and provides technical support to partners to implement their advocacy plans.
§ Monitor advocacy, evaluate and report; Compiles activity reports and e timely and quality donor reports based on the donor contractual agreements. Document lessons from the project and disseminates widely.
§ Ensures adherence to internal systems by ensuring that standard operating procedures for program implementation are adhered
§ Supporting the RHMTS and CHMTs on Compliance/Adherence to rules and regulations for deployment
§ To facilitate the CHMTs and RHMTs on equitable distribution and retention of newly hired nurse-‐midwives § Support the applicants of the nursing courses to be able to use the enrolment and admission system to enable more eligible students from rural areas to undertake nurse-‐midwifery courses.
§ Sensitize the Community and secondary school students’ around LZ and WZ on understanding and uptake of midwifery profession
§ Support the MOH/CHMTs/RHMTS/LGAs to use the bonding system to enable availability of nurse-‐midwives in hard to reach areas
§ Provide day-‐to-‐day technical support to partners and field officers on issues of HRH
§ Ensuring adequate support is provided to the Council Health Management Teams/RHMTs to ensure comprehensive delivery of project activities.
§ Actively participate in District council health planning, supervisory, training and monitoring activities to ensure project activities are aligned to and harmonized within district systems.
§ Provide on-‐site mentoring, quality assurance and refresher training to nurses and schools available in the regions
§ Participates in development of strategic and regular work plans for the project § Prepare and submit reports on all project activities implemented.
§ Carry out other activities as may be assigned by supervisor.

PROJECT MANAGER-‐ RAIN PROJECT WORK STATION: SERENGETI DISTRICT
REPORTS TO: PROGRAMME MANAGER –WASH/CAPACITY BUILDING
JOB OBJECTIVES To provide technical support to the Programme Manager on the implementation of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene interventions and ensure timely implementation of project activities to achieve the project targets of the planned activities. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: -‐
§ Accountable to the implementation of project activities -‐ planning, supervision and monitoring of Urban sanitation
§ Take a lead role in community mobilization for awareness creation; capacity building to community on solid waste management.
§ Implement planned activities and prepare activity reports, monthly reports and donor reports. § Develop quarterly plans and budgets,
§ Support an increased access to safe water for domestic and productive purposes
§ Support to improve access to sanitation and hygiene practices in the target communities

PROFFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Degree in Civil Engineering is required with masters in any filed
• At least 5 years working experience in NGOs – particularly on community based WASH projects in consortium of multi-‐stakeholders (communities, local government, and donor). • Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation of WASH projects
• Knowledge of national policies and strategies relating to WASH
